This is the latest update of the SIMP Project.
We’ve had a busy week getting prepared for the next release.
The new SIMP Website is complete! Stop by and take a look. We’re super happy with how it turned out and appreciate all of the hard work that Amanda put into it to make it awesome.
Well, it turns out that all of those wonderful features in the new Jenkins 2.0 Alpha as mentioned in the last report, weren’t all quite ready for prime time. It does make sense given that it’s an Alpha but some of the issues that we encountered have been around for a LONG time. Ah well, we’re 90% of the way to a reusable, DSL-based, Jenkins architecture so we’re generally happy.
We started doing some heavy Beaker testing of the main pupmod-simp-simp package and ran into a flurry of minor issues across quite a few of the core modules. Nothing critical but definitely items that we’re really glad to be taking care of now that we’re more aggressively targeting our tests.
Not much in the way of new features this week. Just prepping for the next major release!
We’re hoping that this is the final release before we shift whole hog to Puppet 4 and the AIO installer. To ease migration pains, we’re probably going to be performing some symlink magic to get the new tools to be able to accept the old paths for a while. This will only take effect on an upgrade.
For a full view of what we’ve been working on, take a look at our JIRA issues for the week.
